Reminder about our water day.

On Friday we are having our 'Water Wonderland' after morning tea. This is part of our Inquiry on water and the impact it has on our learning. Don't forget to bring either togs or old clothes to change into for this.

Water Inquiry Update

We are really enjoying discovering the important and essential drink that is water! We wrote some amazing persuasive stories today about what we think we should drink at school and why, it was good to see over half the class think we should drink water because it is healthy and refreshing. On the 2nd of March we are having a fun water day where we will explore just how fun water can be. This is something to mark on the calendars and there is a notice coming home about this today (Thursday).

We are now up to the stage where we are developing questions of things that we want to find out, one group want to know ' What does water have in it that is healthy for us?'. It will be fun to search for the answers to our questions!

We have been so lucky to have Casey's mum donated drink bottles to each child in the class. They are very strong and durable, perfect for storing water in the classroom. There is a photo of us with our drink bottles below. 

Writing Experiences.

We have had lots of exciting things happening in the class that we have been able to write about. We are exploring all the different purposes for writing and wrote some amazing persuasive stories about whether we thought Greedy Cat should eat broccoli or junk food. We also had a visitor in the class, a little mouse called Bronto. We wrote descriptive stories about what he looked like and what he did. Welcome to our Blog!

Room 15 are going to have a very exciting year this year! We will be moving to our new classroom at the end of March and then we will be moving into a brand new classroom towards the end of the year.
The last two weeks we have been spending time getting to know each other and the children are now in Reading, writing and Maths groups. Testing will happen throughout the term and I can't wait to see the children making amazing progress! It has been very nice to meet all the new families and I look forward to sharing your child's learning on this blog.
